China’s longest sea-crossing bridge goes into trial operationPublished: 25 Dec 2009 20:02:01 PSTCosting 13.1 billion RMB yuan ($1.9 billion), the 46.5-kilometer Zhoushan Sea-crossing Bridge, so far the longest of its kind in the country, has been completed after 10 years of construction since Sept. 1999. The sea-crossing bridge linking Zhoushan City, China’s only city of more than 1,000 islands, went into trial operation on Friday.
